Chelsea have reportedly identified Penarol starlet Facundo Pellistri as a potential transfer target during the summer.
Despite still being five months short of his 19th birthday, Pellistri has already played 25 first-team games for the Uruguayan team.
However, the emergence of the forward has naturally led to interest from hots of European teams with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City are believed to be among his suitors.
According to Calciomercato, Frank Lampard is also a huge admirer of the prospect, who still has two years left on his current deal.
Although the West London club are well-stocked for options in wide areas, they would be prepared for Pellistri to join another team on loan and try to impress Frank Lampard.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their interest to wrap up a deal for in-demand German midfielder Kai Havertz following the conclusion of Bayer Leverkusen’s season.
The Germany international has scored a late consolation penalty in Leverkusen’s 4-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in Saturday’s DFB-Pokal final.
Havertz is believed to have been identified by Frank Lampard as the missing piece to the puzzle, with the Blues have already managed to secure services of Morocco international winger, Hakim Ziyech and German forward Timo Werner ahead of next campaign.
