Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on the contract situation of German giants, Bayern Munich centre-back Niklas Sule, who could end up being available for a free transfer.
The German defender is currently negotiating with the Bundesliga club about a new deal, and there have been problems when working out a terms for the 26-year-old.
It is well known that Thomas Tuchel’s side are in the market for a new centre-back after the club attempted to secure the services of Jules Kounde throughout the summer, however, an agreement was never reached for him.
However, Sport Witness claims that the recent contract problems for German defenders have prompted interest from Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel is believed to be a fan of him and it is the Blues boss himself who is pushing for the team to keep an eye on the situation, which could lead to a free signing being possible following to Sule’s contract ending in the summer.
With Antonio Rudiger’s current deal with the Blues set to expire this campaign, there has been plenty of rumours over his future at the club, with Munich being interested in his services, and a possible exit would only increase Chelsea’s desire for a defender.
