Chelsea starlet Armando Broja is set to join fellow Premier League outfits Southampton on a season-long loan as the Blues’ club-record deal to Romelu Lukaku nears its completion.

The Saints were looking to strengthen their attacking options after selling their main forward Danny Ings to Aston Villa for £30m last week and Broja is believed to be one of two new strikers rumoured with a switch to the St Marry’s stadium.

They have already done two pieces of business with the Blues this window in the form of academy prospects Tino Livramento and Dynel Simeu both arrived at the club on a permanent basis.

Broja is believed to be announced in the coming days after finalising his medical on Monday. He has impressed during pre-season for West London club and even got on the score sheet away to the Cherries. however, with the calibre of player at the team, it is unlikely he will get a chance in the first team this campaign.

Incidentally, Romelu Lukaku also finalised his medical on Monday ahead of his £97.5m move back to Stmaford Bridge. The Belgian is now believed to travel to London later today or tomorrow to sign a five-year deal that will make him the highest-paid player at the club.

Southampton also registered an interest in a loan deal for Abraham, who has been tipped with a departure from the club.
