Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is keen to sign Eddie Nketiah from his former club Arsenal, with the striker understood to be available for £20 million, according to the latest reports.
Last weekend, Arsenal icon Vieira was announced as the Eagles’ replacement for Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park, following managerial stints at New York City FC and Nice.
The Sun claim that the 45-year-old is interested in recruiting Nketiah, who has struggled to establish himself as a senior team regular at the Emirates.
Nketiah, the Gunners academy product, has been prolific at youth level for his club and England but has not been able to get ahead of Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the pecking order of strikers at the north London outfit.
The 22-year-old’s deal expires next summer, and The Sun claim he’d be obtainable for a fee of £20 million.
The Frenchman is also eyeing a summer move for a player from Nice he managed last – the Denmark international Kasper Dolberg.
The forward caught the eye for his country in their run to the UEFA Euro 2020 semi-finals, netting three goals in four matches.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have announced their first summer transfer – an £8 million deal for Benfica’s 21-year-old left-back Nuno Tavares.
