Arsenal midfield destroyer Lucas Torreira has reportedly agreed to accept a proposal from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has been expected to finalise a permanent switch away from the Gunners for some time now after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
Uruguay international midfielder found it tough to make his mark at Atletico Madrid in the 2020-21 campaign, however, shone for Fiorentina last term with five goals and two assists from 31 Serie A games.
La Viola were believed to possess an option to make Torreira’s stay permanent for a £12.5m fee, however, the Italian team tried to lower the price tag and could not agree a deal with the Gunners.
The Uruguay international therefore returned to London Colney and was a part of the Gunners squad for their pre-season tour of the USA, however, didn’t start a single game.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Torreira has finally agreed to make a switch to Galatasaray after agreed personal terms.
Romano adds that the midfielder will soon jet off to Turkey to finalise his medical, the Gunners are set to receive a €7m (£5.9m) fee for the transfer.
Torreira prepares to depart from Arsenal after scoring four goals and six assists in 89 appearances for the North London giants since 2018, and the North London team will take a significant hit on the £25.8m they shelled out to sign him.
