Barcelona are allegedly closing in on the signature of Arsenal target and Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves.

The Portugal midfielder has again been an important player for his English side during the 2021-22 campaign, racking up 35 appearances across all competitions, registering four goals and two assists thus far.

He only has two years left to run on his existing deal at Molineux, though, and there has been plenty of speculation surrounding his long-term future over the last multiple months.

The Gunners and Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United are among the teams to be credited with an interest in the player.

However, talk of a move to Camp Nou has grown in the latest weeks, with Blaugrana boss Xavi said to be poised to boost his midfield in the summer transfer window.

Neves is reportedly aware of interest from Mikel Arteta’s side as well as the Red Devils but is determined to finalise a move to Spain during this summer’s transfer market.

He joined the Premier League outfit from the Primeira Liga giants Porto five years ago and has represented them on 211 appearances across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and picking up 12 assists in the process.
