Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi is on the brink of sealing a season-long loan switch to Crystal Palace.
The 26-year-old forward is poised to put pen on a one-year extension on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and then take up a second loan stint with Crystal Palace.
Belgian forward’s current Chelsea deal expires next summer and a further agreement until 2022 will stop him becoming a free agent once his loan deal end with the Eagles.
Roy Hudgsons side have already signed England Under-21 attacker Eberechi Eze from QPR for an initial £16million during the summer transfer window.
And Batshuayi’s impending arrival at Selhurst Park will add a further boost to head-coach Roy Hodgson’s attacking options.
Newcastle, Leeds United and West Brom had all tracked Belgian forward with a view to a loan switch, however, the Eagles look set to pull off the deal.
Batshuayi spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Eagles, however, remained on hand at Stamford Bridge last season in Frank Lampard’s first campaign at the Blues’ helm.
The £53million arrival of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and having both Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham as a back-up would limit Batshuayi’s minutes.
Belgium international forward has joined Chelsea from Marseille for £33million back in 2016, but has never managed to cement starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
