Manchester United are reportedly confident of finalising the transfer of Fred next week signing after entering advanced talks with the Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker.
The Red Devils are believed to be keen to get a deal over the line for the Brazil international before the World Cup gets underway in three weeks’ time.
Fred is due to arrive in England next week and complete medical as Brazil prepare for a friendly against Croatia at Anfield, and the Manchester Evening News that the deal will be announced next weekend.
A medical must be completed with the Reds as personal terms agreed between the two parties.
PSG are also rumoured to have made contact with Brazilian midfielder, who has a £53m release clause in his current deal with Ukrainian club.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly planning to pay £79m to sign Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa if Juventus do not take up the option to secure his services on a permanent basis.
The 27-year-old has impressed in Turin during 2017/18 season on loan from German giants Bayern Munich, scoring six goals and creating 13 assists for his teammates.
Juventus have so far paid £7m for former Shakhtar Donetsk winger and have an agreement in place to sign him on a long-term basis for £33m.
According to The Sun, Jose Mourinho’s side are waiting to see if Juventus push ahead with their plans, as they are themselves keen to secure the services of Brazilian winger.
