Deal On: Arsenal enter race for £45m-rated Serie A star

January 11, 2019

Arsenal are interested in signing Nicolo Barella, but will only move for the Cagliari ace in the summer.

Chelsea are in talks with Italian club and expect to complete the transfer of the Italian midfielder, or Zenit Saint Petersburg man Leandro Paredes, this week.

Cagliari are demanding a fee of £45 million for the 21-year-old, but the Blues are hoping to negotiate that asking price down.

Gianluca Di Marzio.com states Arsenal are in the race to sign Nicolo Barella alongside Chelsea and Napoli.

The Gunners have almost no transfer funds available in January and cannot even meet Barcelona’s £20 million asking price for Denis Suarez.

The north London giants have been trying to bring the Spanish midfielder to Emirates on a loan deal. Maurizio Sarri is the man pushing for Chelsea to sign Nicolo Barella as he sees the Italian as the perfect replacement for departing Cesc Fabregas.

Monaco are waiting to confirm the signing of Cesc Fabregas, but cannot do so until Chelsea secure a replacement.

Maurizio Sarri thinks Nicolo Barella is ready for the Premier League, but Chelsea’s board are not so convinced and believe that Leandro Paredes might be a better option, because the 24-year-old has more experience.
