Deal On: Chelsea Set to Make Approach For 25-year-old Frenchman

July 20, 2018

Chelsea are reportedly considering a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain stopper Alphonse Areola.

New Chelsea head-coach Maurizio Sarri is likely to lose Thibaut Courtois this summer, with Real Madrid are on the brink to announce the transfer of Belgian stopper alongside with his compatriot Eden Hazard.

Italian head-coach was believed to be keen to sign Alisson Becker to Stamford Bridge, however, Liverpool have secured services of Brazilian stopper with a club record €72.5m fee.

The Blues have been rumoured with a swoop for former number one Petr Cech amid suggestions that he could depart from the North London club ahead of the next season, while AC Milan’s stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma is also reportedly an option.

However, according to Paris United, the Blues are also considering an approach for PSG stopper, who was a part of the France team that claimed the FIFA 2018 world-cup title.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper was number one at PSG last campaign- making 43 appearances in all competitions – however, the arrival of Gianluigi Buffon has placed his position in doubt at Parc de Princess.
