July 11, 2018

Liverpool are set to launch a move for Bundesliga outfits Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Julian Brandt.

Liverpool head-coach Jurgen Klopp is eager to add competition for Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane and Brandt reportedly fits the bill.

According to Calcio Insider, the Merseyside Reds have decided to swoop for the Germany international forward after being impressed with his fine form at the world-cup tournament.

Brandt was limited to three cameo appearances at the tournament, however, was one of the 2014 winners’ few bright sparks.

He has three years left on his current deal at Bayer Leverkusen after extending his deal back in May.

The Bundesliga giants also took the opportunity to increase Brandt’s release clause in order to fen off interest from hosts of European clubs.

The recent contract extensions of Jonathan Tah and Lars Bender have shown that. We want to win titles.”

Liverpool have signed thus far only two player Naby Keita from RB Leipzig and AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho the pair have already secured their first appearances for the Merseyside Reds in 7-0 victory over Chester.
