Deal On: Man Utd set to make approach for AS Monaco forward

By | June 19, 2020

Manchester United have allegedly identified AS Monaco attacker Pietro Pellegri as a potential target for the upcoming transfer window.

The 20-times English champions have been rumoured with the prospect in the past, only for the 19-year-old to ultimately depart from Genoa for Monaco.

However, with the Italian yet to make an impact in Ligue 1 and Monaco open to player sales, it appears that the Red Devils may be prepared to entertain a big-money approach for his signature.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils head-coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy for team officials to pursue a deal later back in 2020.

Although two years remaining on his current deal, it would come as a surprise if Pellegri is not allowed to depart from the Ligue 1 club for the right price.

He has not made a first-team appearance since September 2018.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are allegedly preparing a summer move for Swansea City’s central defender Joe Rodon.

The 22-year-old Welshman, who came through the academy at the Liberty Stadium, has made 21 Championship appearances for his side during the 2019-20 campaign.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Swans believe that Premier League interest will arrive during this summer’s transfer market, and United have been mentioned as possible suitors.

The report states that the Steve Cooper’s side ‘expect’ the 20-time English champions to be among the bidders for the star ahead of the 2020-21 season.
