West Ham star Declan Rice has lavished praise on his close friend Mason Mount and says the Chelsea star can become one of the best players in the world.
The 22-year-old technically gifted Englishman is enjoying another impressive campaign at Stamford Bridge and has scored three goals in his last nine matches for Chelsea.
There were fears Mason would drop out of the side after ex-Blues boss Frank Lampard was sacked, but Thomas Tuchel has also pinpointed the England international as a key member of his roster in west London.
Rice thinks there is still more to come from Mason, however, and says the ‘unbelievable’ Blues star can develop into one of the world’s best players.
‘[Our friendship] is strong as anything,’ Declan told the Premier League about his relationship with fellow countrymen.
‘We’ve been best friends since we were eight-years-old so it’s been an unbelievable journey to where we both are right now. I can’t have anyone speaking bad about him. He deserves everything that comes his way.
‘He’s a top player and I think he can go on to another level as well. He’s unbelievable, he can go again and keep rising to be one of the world’s best.’
