Done Deal: Liverpool hero undergoes medical ahead of £5m move

It has been confirmed that Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is having his medical ahead of his official move from to Serie A club Lazio.

The veteran Brazilian midfielder will move to the Stadio Olimpico with a fee of around £5m believed to have been agreed with Liverpool.

The 30-year-old South American has made 344 appearances for the Merseyside club since joining Anfield back in 2007 from Brazilian side Gremio.

However, it appears his time at Anfield is finally coming to an end as he completes the formalities of a move to Rome.

Lucas’ soon-to-be team-mate Senad Lulic has revealed his thoughts on Leiva’s arrival with the Biancocelesti moving quickly to replace Lucas Biglia—who joined AC Milan in a £17m deal on Sunday.

During his interview, the Bosnian said: “Lucas Leiva is a great player with a lot of experience. We have so many young players here that we need someone like him. We await him with open arms and hope he arrives soon.”
