Borussia Dortmund are believed to rival Liverpool for the services of PSV Eindhoven winger Donyell Malen, according to a report.
German giants attacking forces for the 2021-22 campaign have taken a hit following the news that Manchester United have agreed a £73m transfer for Jadon Sancho, who will join the Red Devils officially after the end of the Euro 2020 tournament.
German giants are believed to keep hold of Erling Braut Haaland for another year, however, the loss of Sancho means that Marco Rose will likely be in the market for at least one new attacker this summer.
Liverpool are believed to be preparing discussions with Malen, however, German outlet Bild claims that Dortmund are ready to steal a march on the Merseyside Reds in the race for the Netherlands international.
The report adds that Borussia Dortmund would have the upper hand in a bidding war due to the cash they will receive for Sancho’s exit, and with Malen still only 22, he could elect to move to the club renowned for their development of young players.
Malen managed to create two assists in four games for his country at Euro 2020 and scored 19 goals from 32 games in the 2020-21 Eredivisie campaign.
