Liverpool academy product Neco Williams has allegedly emerged as a loan target for several Premier League clubs, according to a recent exclusive report from TEAMtalk.
He is held in the highest of regard within the club as well as by Jurgen Klopp but the talent had to be taken out of the firing line when Neco came in for heavy online abuse after a couple of off-colour displays, including the Reds’ 7-2 loss to Dean Smith’s Aston Villa in the Premier League in 2020. That limited the player to just 14 appearances over the course of the season.
As a result, the Merseyside giants are considering the possibility of loaning the full-back out in the summer to help the ace get some regular playing time to continue his progress.
This development has seemingly a number of clubs, with newly-promoted Norwich City understood to be among them.
Burnley, too, are keen on signing Williams temporarily this summer with Phil Bardsley’s deal expiring at the end of this month. Even if the player does stay, the former Manchester United trainee is 35 years old.
In addition to these two outfits, Championship sides Stoke City, Cardiff City, Swansea City and Barnsley have all asked about a possible loan switch for the Welshman.
