Everton forward tipped to make move to Arsenal

Lee Dixon believes Everton centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal.

The north Londoners have been linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old, who netted 16 Premier League goals last campaign but has been sidelined for the majority of the current season due to a broken toe.

The Gunners are set to be in the market for a new forward at the end of the season with Alexandre Lacazette’s deal set to expire, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates is in major doubt after the Ganoesse was stripped of the captaincy a few days ago.

And Lee has supported their push for the Toffees forward.

‘Would I like to see Calvert-Lewin at Arsenal? I think yes. I think you’d struggle to get one of the top, top strikers like [Erling] Haaland,’ he told MailOnline.

‘It would be a step up for Calvert-Lewin, no disrespect to Everton.

‘I like him, I think he’s got potential to be as good as he wants to be. He is fit and athletic, he is strong and good in the air and a good finisher. I would take him.’

In other news, Arsenal are the latest side said to be monitoring Barcelona’s Sergino Dest, according to NBC Sports, with manager Mikel Arteta a fan of the versatile defender.
