Dutch giants Ajax defender Daley Blind has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Arsenal.
After a mixed spell Man Utd, Dutch defender has enjoyed a productive 19 months back at Ajax, helping the team to make an impressive run in the Champions League semi-finals last season.
According to The Athletic, the resurgence of the 29-year-old defender is interested in making the switch to back to the Premier League, and Arsenal are ready to offer him an escape route.
The report suggests that Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the Netherlands international’s versatility – attributes which would help the Gunners to strengthen their defensive end.
Blind allegedly possesses a small release clause in his current deal, which will prove attractive to the Gunners after a significant financial outlay over the past eight months.
Mikel Arteta’s side are unlikely to be the only team to attempt to secure the services of Blind should he be open to leaving his boyhood team.
Meanwhile, Arsenal eyeing a move for another Ajax player Dusan Tadic who has also played for the Premier League team Southampton and could be a perfect boost for the Gunners offensive end.
