Tiemoue Bakayoko has admitted it would be a dream to stay at San Siro and not return to his parent club.
Chelsea have been accused of making some failed signings over the past few years but not many rank higher than the midfielder.
After a stellar season at AS Monaco, the Frenchman was pinched by the Blues for £35 million back in 2017, but he endured a turbulent season filling in for Nemanja Matic, who had departed for Manchester United.
Since the move to Milan, he has found his feet after being sent on loan to AC Milan.
With the appointment of Maurizio Sarri, the 24-year-old ace did not have a place in the team.
Instead, he has admitted he dreams of staying at San Siro – where he has won over the fans.
“Staying at Milan is my dream and the fixed thought in my mind, but I have a contract with Chelsea,” he said. “Right now I just want to finish the season in the top four. After that, we’ll think about it.”
There is an option at the end of the campaign for the temporary deal to become permanent.
Rossoneri can trigger a clause worth £30.7m (€35m) that will see the midfielder’s wish granted.
