Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has rubbished rumours that Manchester United made contact with the German champions over the summer to discuss the future of French winger, Kingsley Coman.
The world-cup winning forward had reportedly been identified by the Red Devils as a potential alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s winger Jadon Sancho during the this summers transfer window.
However, according to Salihamidzic, the 20-times English champions did not approach the German giants, who would not have considered any offers for the 24-year-old forward.
“There was nothing, and we wouldn’t have looked into it either,” the Bayern chief told Bild. “His goal in the Champions League final should explain enough why we are relying on him wholeheartedly.”
Coman, who has a deal at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023, has played twice for the treble winners at the start of the 2020-21 season.
The Red Devils signed Edinson Cavani, Facundo Pellistri and Alex Telles on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, while Amad Diallo will arrive at Old Trafford from Serie A outfits Atalanta BC when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
