Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has heaped praise on his teammate James Milner, claiming that he is capable to play in every position in Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Milner has often deputised at left-back in Scottish defender’s absence, and he did so again on Saturday as the Merseyside Reds edged closer towards a first Premier League trophy with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.
The 34-year-old defender has made a last-gasp clearance to preserve the Merseyside Reds lead in the second half, and former Hull City defender has spoken highly of the Englishman’s professionalism and his quality.
In quotes attributed to the Evening Standard, the Robertson claimed: “How many positive words have we said about [Milner]. He could play in goal and probably give it his all and try to keep a clean sheet for us.
“He can play any position. When he goes into left-back or right-back or whatever he shows how good a player he is and how good a professional he is. He did that on Saturday again.”
Milner has played 209 games for Jurgen Klopp’s side since joining from Man City back in 2015, founding back of the net 26 times.
The Reds will welcome Atletico Madrid to Anfield on Wednesday for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 games with Spanish giants.
