Man Utd playmaker Juan Mata has described Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho as a “great player” amid rumours linking the English forward with a switch to Old Trafford.
Sancho is believed to be the Red Devils top target ahead of the summer transfer window after lighting up Bundesliga in his three campaigns since arriving from Man City.
The 20-times English champions are rumoured to have received a significant boost in their bid to sign the England international forward, who has managed to found back of the net 14 times and set up a further 15 in the Bundesliga this season.
Mata refused to get drawn into discussing a future move to Old Trafford for England international forward, however, he did talk up the 20-year-old’s quality.
“Should we sign Jadon Sancho? What do you want me to say?!” he said during an Instagram live session with Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry.
“We all know he’s a great player. He’s having a fantastic season at Dortmund.
“But it’s not my responsibility to speak about those things. I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that.”
Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez is supposedly being an alternative for Sancho if the Red Devils miss out to sign him.
