Hoffenheim promising defender emerged as top transfer target for Liverpool

Liverpool are reportedly one of the interested clubs in Hoffenheim defender David Raum after his brilliant performances this term.

That is according to SportBILD, who state the 24-year-old full-back has as many as six teams trying to snap him up this summer.

He joined Die Kraichgauer from fellow Bundesliga outfit Furth for nothing last summer and has hit the ground running in the German top-flight this term, with three goals and 13 assists in 30 matches so far.

Raum arrived as a promising player but is now viewed as a star, and his displays have lined him up for a summer transfer. The outlet states he’ll probably move to England and has a €30m exit clause.

Five clubs in the Premier League are keen on David, and the Reds are one of those believed to be among potential buyers.

Whether they would pay €30 million is not mentioned, although that looks unlikely given they are well-stocked at left-back with Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson.

Maybe if one of those were to depart Anfield this summer, the former being more likely than the latter, that would see the Merseysiders ramp up their interest in the German.
