“I was ready to leave” – Man Utd starlet wanted loan exit this summer

Man Utd starlet Anthony Elanga has revealed that he was “ready” to depart from Old Trafford on loan over the summer.

The 19-year-old forward was rumoured to move away from Old Trafford during the recent transfer window, however, Man Utd boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allegedly blocked an exit.

Elanga was involved in the Red Devils preparations for the 2021-22 season, while he has already found the back of the net for the 20-times English champions, scoring against Wolves at the end of last campaign.

The Sweden Under-21s international has said that he was open to departing from the team on loan, however, is now prepared to battle for a first-team spot with the 20-time English champions.

“I was ready if they wanted to loan me”, Fotbollskanalen quotes Elanga as saying. “As a young player you have to be ready, but I’m happy to be where I am at United now and I want to show them what I can do. I’m always ready if the coach calls me. I show what I can do in training and if I get the opportunity, I take it.”

Elanga, who was thought to be of interest to a number of Championship teams, has not been in the team for any of the Red Devils three Premier League games this season.
