Arsenal have dealt another injury blow after the Bosnian star Sead Kolasinac was forced off during his country’s game against France this week.
The incident occurred during Bosnia side’s shock 1-1 draw against the 2018 World Cup winners, in a match which saw Sevilla youngster Jules Kounde sent off for the rash challenge on the Gunners man just after half-time.
After the match, Bosnia manager Iyavin Petev admitted that he was not optimistic about a swift return for the former Schalke left-back.
‘I talked to him, he doesn’t look very well,’ the coach said.
Reports suggest that he is close to a transfer to the Turkish club Fenerbahce. With the Turkish transfer market remaining open until September 8th, a reported deal could still be done.
However, if the 28-year-old is out for any length of time, it is said that Fener could wait until January to finalise the signing.
The Gunners have also been rocked by the news that the Switzerland international Granit Xhaka has tested positive for coronavirus while away with his country’s national team.
Arsenal have started the campaign in poor form, losing their opening three PL games without scoring against Manchester City, Chelsea and Brentford.
Arteta has been without multiple key players during the formative weeks of the season due to illness and injury, including Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ben White and Nicolas Pepe.
