Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries has revealed that he was “flattered” to attract interest from Premier League giants, Man Utd and Chelsea.
After arriving from PSV Eindhoven back in August 2021, Dumfries enjoyed a successful debut year with Inter Milan where he has found back of the net five times and provided seven assists in 45 games, helping his side win the Coppa Italia.
As a result of his impressive season, Dumfries attracted interest from Premier League giants, Man Utd and Chelsea in the summer, although no move materialised.
While the two Premier League giants could still attempt to secure the services of the Netherlands international defender in January, Dumfries says that he is focused on Inter Milan despite being “flattered” by the interest from English clubs.
The 26-year-old told De Telegraaf: “The interest flatters me, of course. But my focus is only on Inter. We want to win the Scudetto because we lost it last season.”
While Dumfries has found back of the net twice and registered one assist in nine competitive games this campaign, Inter Milan have started the season below par and find themselves in seventh place in the Italian top tier with 12 points from seven games.
