Manchester United-linked Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is allegedly on the verge of penning a new deal at Inter Milan.
He has again been an important player for his Italian club this term, making 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and laying on two assists in the process.
Brozovic’s current contract at San Siro is due to run out at the end of June, though, and there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the 29-year-old’s future in recent months.
The Red Devils are interested in the player while Barcelona are also said to be keen admirers of the player with manager Xavi has been pushing for his club to sign him at the end of his contract.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Marcelo is on the brink of signing an extension with the Italian outfit, which will end the aforementioned teams’ interest.
He has featured on 275 occasions for I Nerazzurri since arriving from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2016, contributing 26 goals and 35 assists so far.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have also been touted with an interest in Brozovic’s services over the last several months.
