Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is allegedly struggling to persuade the club’s sporting director to land Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In spite of impressing during his opportunities in west London this season, the Spaniard remains as deputy to the former Rennes star Edouard Mendy.

Earlier in February, it was stated that the Blues will consider offers for the player should he wish to take on a fresh challenge in the summer.

According to Il Messaggero, Maurizio has informed Biancocelesti officials that he’d be interested in bringing his ex-Blues stopper to Stadio Olimpico.

However, the report adds that senior member Igli Tare would prefer to snare Sergio Rico, the Paris Saint-Germain goalie who has recently moved to the La Liga outfit Mallorca on loan.

Les Parisiens are likely to be open to parting company with Rico for a cut-price fee this summer, whereas Thomas Tuchel’s side will want to recoup a notable chunk of the £71.6 million that they forked out on Arrizabalaga in 2018.

In the meantime, Chelsea have registered an interest in Ajax attacker Antony, according to the latest reports.

Since joining de Joden, he has netted 21 goals in 71 matches, impressing fans particularly in this campaign’s Champions League campaign.
