Inter Milan have pinpointed two transfer targets in their left wing-back role and one of them is Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri, according to a recent report in the Italian media.
La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition said I Nerazzurri were more than likely to release Aleksandar Kolarov and Ashley Young when their current deals expired in the summer.
Their dream reinforcement on the left-flank side would be Robin Gosens at fellow Serie A club Atalanta, but the German star is going to cost €40m.
The alternative option is the west London outfit’s full-back, although the former Roma defender also has interest from Inter’s Serie A rivals Juventus.
Achraf Hakimi has been flying for his side on the right-hand side but now the Italians want to find someone who can do a similar job on the opposite wing.
Emerson has made just 13 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this campaign, having fallen out of favour under both Thomas Tuchel and Frank Lampard.
Elsewhere, Tiemoue Bakayoko’s proposed transfer to Napoli on a permanent basis wouldn’t depend on Gennaro Gattuso’s future at the club, the player’s entourage Abdoulaye Bakayoko says.
Speaking to Radio Marte, he said: “His future is not tied to that of the coach. There is a strong bond with the coach, but when the discussions are held with the club to stay at Napoli, then we’ll see.
“The focus right now is to see out the season in the best possible way. There are no appointments planned with the club to discuss it. Whether he remains at Napoli or not, that will not depend on Gattuso. He is happy here; it’s a big club with a great history.”
