Jose Mourinho asks Tottenham board to sign 25-year-old Chelsea centre-back

Tottenham Hotspur head-coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to secure services of Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma and lure him at White Hart Lane his summer’s transfer window.

The West London club are expected to be in the market for at least one new centre-back ahead of the 2020-21 season with Jan Vertonghen set to depart from the club on a free transfer.

According to RMC Sport, Jose Mourinho has identified Kurt Zouma as a potential signing, with the Portuguese eyeing a reunion with a player who he previously managed at Stamford Bridge and liked him a lot.

The report suggests that the West London club would be open to selling the Frenchman during this upcoming summer transfer window, although Frank Lampard’s team are in a tough position to negotiate due to the fact that the defender still has three years left on his current deal.

Zouma has played 33 games at club level during the 2019-20 season, although he lost his place in the starting lineup in early stages of 2020.

The 25-year-old spent each of the last two campaigns on loan with Everton and Stoke City before making a return to Stamford Bridge ahead of the current season.
