Jurgen Klopp planning surprise move for 23-year-old French centre-forward

According to the French media sources, Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Bordeaux highly-rated striker Gaetan Laborde.

The 23-year-old ace has enjoyed an impressive season for the League 1 outfit, scoring 13 goals across all competitions as they finished sixth in French top flight.

And now, the reports from La Depeche du Midi claim that his talents have not gone unnoticed and Liverpool are interested in signing him.

It’s understood that the Merseyside giants have made enquiries about the striker’s availability as club manager Jurgen Klopp looks to reinforce his ranks ahead of next season.

Liverpool have managed to secure the Champions League stop in the Premier League table, but their fate will be determined in a play-off match in August.

Jurgen Klopp wants to improve his squad as he sets out on performing well in Europe and mounting a title challenge. And although Laborde does not have a prolific goalscoring record, he could prove to be a shrewd addition despite recently signing a contract extension until 2020.

Alongside Gaetan Laborde, the Reds manager is determined to bring top-quality players at Anfield this summer, with Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk and AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah firmly on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer wishlist.
