Jurgen Klopp plans to sign Hoffenheim wonderkid next month

It is unlikely that Liverpool are going to break the bank for big-name new players during the summer transfer window, however, they do think it’s likely that we’ll see a couple of exciting talents arrive to strengthen the U23s.

According to Kicker, translated on Twitter by Bundesliga respected journalist Ronan Murphy, the Merseyside Reds are eyeing Melkamu Frauendorf of Hoffenheim.

The attacking midfielder who has only turned 16 in the winter, however, has wowed for Hoffenheim’s youth teams and is a regular for Germany U-17 team.

He is rangy in style and is of Ethiopian descent, so could choose to play for his country of birth at a later date despite spending most of his life in Germany.

There has been not much about the teenager except what’s readily available on the internet, however, his speed and technical skills are not a doubt and Jurgen Klopp’s scouting skill have already helped Liverpool to sign one of the best players from Hoffenheim, Roberto Firmino.

The Reds bought Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott last summer – and it might well be transfers window where the several young players would arrive at Anfield.
