Chelsea talented midfielder Billy Gilmour has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Serie A champions, Juventus.
After recovering from the knee injury which he suffered in the summer, 19-year-old made his first outing of the season against Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Providing that he proves his fitness over the coming weeks, the Scottish starlet is expected to play in Frank Lampard’s team on a regular basis.
However, according to Calciomercato, Italian giants may make a speculative bid for Gilmour during the January window.
Chelsea are unlikely to consider any offers for the prospect, who has made six starts in the Frank Lampard’s team and six substitute outings since the Englishman appointed as the Blues head-coach.
Gilmour has a deal at Stamford Bridge until 2023.
Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi could reportedly be allowed to depart from Stamford Bridge on loan when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
The 20-year-old has found back of the net three times in 12 games for the West London club this campaign, however, has found it tough to hold down a regular spot in the Premier League.
The England international was not even in the squad against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, while he has played just 31 minutes of league football since the start of October.
According to Eurosport, the Englishman’s agents are expected to hold talks with the Blues soon to determine the best course of action, and a January exit on a short-term spell is a possibility.
