Serie A champions, Juventus were reportedly prepared to offer Manchester United wonderkid Mason Greenwood a ‘life-changing amount of money’ in order to swap Premier League for the Italian top-tier.

The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in England and has managed to found back of the net 15 times and provide five assists across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

However, the story could have been a lot different for Greenwood, as The Athletic reports that Serie A champions were weighing up an approach for the teenager earlier last year.

Juve were supposedly prepared to offer Greenwood a lucrative deal to prise him away from the Red Devils, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were able to persuade the talented forward to remain at Old Trafford and fulfil his potential in the English top-tier.

The forward still has around three years left on his current deal with the Red Devils and has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI in United’s last three Premier League games.

The 20-times English champions continue their charge for a top-four finish when they face Southampton.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League table one point separating from Leicester City
