The 23-year-old playmaker has starred for Italy during their Euro 2020 success, founding back of the net twice in seven games, while he played a vital role in his side’s win over England in the final.

Chiesa is currently on loan at Serie A giants Juventus from Fiorentina, however, the Old Lady have an obligation to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of next campaign.

According to Bild, Chelsea approached the Italian heavyweights with a €100m (£85m) offer, however, the West London club were informed that the forward was not for sale under any circumstances.

Chiesa found back of the net 34 times and provided 25 assists in 153 games for Fiorentina before making a move to Juventus.

Last season, the Italian managed 14 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances for Juventus, winning the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italia during his first campaign with the Serie A heavyweights.

Chelsea also continues to be rumoured with Borussia Dortmund’s centre-forward Erling Braut Haaland, however, are expected to be frustrated in their pursuit of the Norwegian.
