La Liga giants eyeing move for 27-year-old Arsenal defender

La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close tabs on Hector Bellerin’s uncertain situation at the Emirates Stadium.

The 27-year-old Arsenal defender has now entered the final 12 months of his current deal and was left out of the team to face Crystal Palace last Friday.

Bellerin has fallen behind Cedric Soares and Takehiro Tomiyasu in the Emirates pecking order, and the North London giants are believed to sanction his exit in the coming weeks.

Bellerin helped Spanish outfits, Real Betis win the Copa del Rey during a productive loan spell last campaign, setting up five goals in 32 appearences for Los Verdiblancos in all competitions.

A return to Manuel Pellegrini’s side is believed to be the right-back’s preferred destination, however, Betis are struggling to come up with a financial package that will satisfy the Gunners.

As a result, North London giants could supposedly relent and terminate Bellerin’s deal to allow him to make a return to Betis for free, with the player’s agent currently in talks with the team over such an eventuality.

However, nothing has been agreed upon between the two parties yet, and as a result, reports in Spain report that Barcelona are ready to make a move in for the ex-La Masia starlet.

Bellerin left Barcelona in 2011 to secure the services for Arsenal, and La Blaugrana could be in the market for a new right-back after failing to lure Cesar Azpilicueta away from Chelsea.
