Chelsea and Man Utd will reportedly battle it out to secure services of Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho who has been heavily rumoured with a return back to the English top-tier later this year.

The Brazil international playmaker has struggled to hold down a secure starting role in the Catalan club this season, being used from the off in just half of their La Liga games.

The 26-year-old cost Barcelona £142m to sign from Liverpool one year ago, however, could be sold this summer, with Valverde supposedly keen on re-signing Brazlian superstar Neymar from PSG.

Spanish outlet Marca indicates that the Blues have been quoted £100m for the ex-Liverpool favourite, potentially as a long-term replacement for Eden Hazard who has been rumoured with a switch to Real Madrid, and they have not been scared off by the nine-figure fee to lure him at Stamford Bridge.

The Red Devils may also be willing to spend big on a marquee signing ahead of next campaign, as they keen on to secure top-four finish as the things going well since the arrival of Solskjaer.
