Leicester City set to hijack Arsenal move for 23-year-old Celtic forward

Leicester City have reportedly set to hijack Arsenal move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard.

The 23-year-old has been in stunning form for the Bhoys during the 2020-21 season, finding the back of the net on 20 times in 32 games in all competitions.

Aston Villa and Arsenal have been rumoured with the ex-Paris Saint-Germain starlet, who only has little over one year left to run on his current contract with his Scottish club.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal could miss out signing of the French forward as Leicester are closing in on a £15m deal for his services, who is keen to reunite with his ex-manager Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

The report suggests that Brandon Rodgers views the Frenchman as an ideal long-term replacement for their talismanic forward Jamie Vardy, with the 34-year-old entering the latter stages of his career.

Edouard has found back of the net 81 times and provided 35 assists in 160 games for Celtic.

Leicester City and Arsenal also go head-to-head to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar who was on the verge to join Mikel Arteta’s side last summer, however, the deal has never been materalised.
