Ligue 1 forward emerged as surprise transfer target for Jurgen Klopp

Premier League rivals Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are in a transfer battle to secure the services of Lille and Nigeria attacker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.

The 20-year-old attacker has only joined Ligue 1 outfits, Lille last summer, however, is already attracting interest from some of top teams across Europe.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed a superb season to his career at Lille, founding back of the net 16 times and making three assists in 28 games in all competitions.

His form has caught the attention of a number of Premier League team, with Sky Sports reporting Liverpool and Chelsea are plotting move, while the Spurs also mentioned as a possible destination for 20-year-old forward.

The West London club head-coach Frank Lampard was not expected to be able to secure the services of players next month however, Chelsea’s transfer ban was lifted and they are expected to have a busy January transfer window.

Liverpool are also expected to sign one or two players in January they also have finalised transfer of Takumi Minamino earlier last week.

The English clubs face a battle to secure the services, however, as Sky Sports say the 20-year-old forward is expected to remain at Lille for the rest of the campaign unless a superb bid is offered

Osimhen is said to be happy in France and focussed on helping Lille.

Discussing Chelsea’s plans for January Lampard said:

‘We want a top calibre of player who can improve us. ‘I will recommend players who can help us. I want players who want to come here and win and be a Chelsea player.’
