Liverpool £100m target went AWOL

Liverpool are understood to be interested in Barcelona’s striker Ousmane Dembele, and their chances of signing the Frenchman could be boosted after he reportedly went AWOL from the Catalan giants.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claims that the France international went off the grid for 90 minutes and was uncontactable as he did not attend a training session.

It is reported that Ousmane Dembele missed the session as he was feeling unwell due to a case of gastroenteritis, but Barcelona are angry as he did not contact the club to inform them that he would not be present, and they could not reach him for over an hour and a half.

It was claimed last week that Ousmane Dembele is being allowed to leave Camp Nou because other senior players have been less than impressed with his attitude and this latest incident will not exactly endear him to those who have doubts about his personality.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Ousmane Dembele, but he is also keen to only add good characters to his group, so it remains to be seen if he makes a move for the 21-year-old winger.
