Liverpool defender Ben Davies could reportedly be set to depart from the club without having played a single minute for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The former Preston North End man was signed in during the last knockings of the January transfer window while Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez were recuperating from long-term injuries.
Turkish centre-back Ozan Kabak was also brought in on loan from Bundesliga giants Schalke 04, and while the Turkish defender pulled on the red shirt during his short stay, Davies is still waiting for his first taste of the Merseyside Reds action.
Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp’s side have secured the services of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, while Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams are also ahead of Davies in the Anfield pecking order.
As a result, The Sun reports that Davies could be heading for the exit door in the summer, and Sheffield United are hopeful of striking a loan contract for the 25-year-old.
Ben Davies played 145 games for boyhood team Preston before departing for Liverpool, where he was an unused substitute on eight occasions last campaign.
