Liverpool new signing Alisson Becker has revealed that Brazil teammate Roberto Firmino has convinced him to sign for Liverpool as the Reds have paid £57m for his signature.
The 25-year-old Brazilian keeper who was the Selecao’s first-choice at this summer’s World Cup finals has joined Liverpool from Serie A giants AS Roma.
Former AS Roma keeper has already talked about the part ex-Roma teammate Mohamed Salah played in persuading him to join the Reds and Roberto Firmino as well with whom he has performed at the world-cup tournament.
“I spoke to him before things really started to happen,” he told the club’s official website. “When the negotiations became official I spoke to him and only heard good things about the club and the city.
“He feels really at home here. He’s loved by the fans and popular with his teammates. He said if I were to come, I’d be really happy as well.”
Brazilian keeper’s arrival at Anfield could lead to Simon Mignolet departure from the club, while Danny Ward has already signed for Leicester City this summer.
