According to the Mirror, Liverpool experienced midfielder Lucas Leiva has been heavily linked with a surprise move to Brighton.
It’s already confirmed that Brighton will participate in the Premier League next season and they are already chasing for the players with the experience of English fop flight.
The 30-year-old Brazilian is out of contract this summer after spending 10 years with the Merseyside outfit.
The same sources claim that the newly-promoted Seagulls want to take advantage of the situation by making an ‘ambitious move’ for the holding midfielder. Lucas Leiva has been a useful squad player for years at Liverpool, but he is believed to be keen for more playing time. And the South American could get that at Brighton as the club are looking to add players with Premier League experience.
At a recent ceremony where Lucas was celebrated for his time at Liverpool, he hinted his time on Merseyside is coming to an end.
During his interview, the Brazilian midfielder said: “There is no doubt about my commitment to Liverpool, I just need to wait until the end of the season, work hard and make a decision together with the club.”
