Liverpool and Man Utd keen on to sign 22-year-old Ajax forward

Liverpool are allegedly set to battle a host of Premier League sides and La Liga outfit Barcelona for the services of Ajax forward Antony.

The 22-year-old star has been a standout performer for de Joden this season, scoring 12 goals and laying on 10 assists in 33 games across all competitions.

His impressive performances are said to have caught the eye of multiple top European teams ahead of this summer’s market, and the Daily Mirror states that both the Reds and Blaugrana are among those keeping a close eye.

The report adds that the Merseysiders have identified the Brazilian as a potential long-term successor for star man Mohamed Salah, who has less than a one-and-a-half year on his contract at Anfield.

In spite of their ongoing financial woes, Xavi’s side see themselves as the frontrunners for the player’s signature, with the manager keen to strengthen his attacking ranks further after the arrivals of Adama Traore, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have also been touted with an interest in the winger, who is rated at around €60 million (£50.7 million).

The South American, who is currently away on international duty with his country, is under contract at Johan Cruyff Arena until June 2025.
