Merseyside club will make a bid to sign Athletic Bilbao attacker Iker Muniain this summer. With Adam Lallana set to leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign, Klopp might look to bring in another forward footballer as back-up to his current front three, and this report suggests that Spain international is a winger he wants to sign.
Iker earned his second cap for the Furia Roja earlier this campaign, seven years after he earned his first, as he was rewarded for the excellent form he’s shown at club level. The report from Spain also says that the Merseyside giants are willing to double Muniain’s €2m a year wages to get him to leave the La Liga giants.
While Liverpool do have plenty of options in terms of forwards, it does look that Jurgen Klopp might want to bring in a new attacker to keep the squad fresh and if that’s the case, then Spanish winger fits the bill. His style of play seems suited to Merseyside club, but time will tell if Liverpool do decide to make a move.
Iker is a product of the Spanish club youth academy and spent his current career with them. He is one of the best forwards in La Liga and a key figure for Athletic Bilbao. Muniain is contracted with the La Liga giants until 2024, and his release clause is around €30m.
Jurgen Klopp ready to spend considerable money on the winger to bolster Liverpool front-line during the summer transfer window.
