Liverpool are reportedly the frontrunners to secure the services of Olympiacos defender Kostas Tsimikas.
The 23-year-old was rumoured with both Sheffield United and Leicester City during the winter transfer window, while Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have recently joined the race for the defender.
However, according to Sdna, the Merseyside Reds are now at the head of the queue for Tsimikas as they are looking to sign a back-up for Andrew Robertson ahead of the next season as Scottish player has been only left-back in the club.
The report claims that the Merseyside Reds have scouted the Greece international defender in the Europa League this campaign and are prepared to meet Olympiacos’s €25m (£22m) asking price to get the deal done.
Tsimikas, who has a deal with his Greek giants until the summer of 2022, has managed to provide seven assists in 37 games at club level during the 2020-21 season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have allegedly suffered a setback in their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner as Geman club refuse to sell their star player this summer.
Coronavirus outbreak could affect the current summer transfer window and some transfer that thought to be a done deal could be cancelled.
