Liverpool are ready to seal a deal for Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic in early 2022 amidst interest from their Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to a report from a British newspaper The Sun.
The Anfield side made a single signing in the summer transfer market by getting in RB Leipzig and France youth international central defender Ibrahima Konate through the door.
However, the club did not strengthen in the middle of the park despite the Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum quitting the club.
Head coach Jurgen Klopp instead promoted the highly-regarded youngster Harvey Elliot into the team.
At this moment, the German tactician has a plethora of midfielders including Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Fabinho, James Milner, Harvey Elliot, and Naby Keita at his disposal.
However, they’re still plotting a deal for Brozovic in the January transfer window. The 28-year-old Croatian has loads of experience and helped his team win Serie A last season.
The player might be leaning towards the exit door as Marcelo is in the final year of his deal at the San Siro. Although the English giants can land him for nothing next summer, they appear interested in striking a January deal.
