AC Milan are set to launch their move for rumoured Liverpool target and Udinese midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul, according to a recent report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
He is said to be a target for the Anfield outfit should Georginio Wijnaldum leave the club this summer’s transfer window on a free.
Tutto Udinese reported just back in March that Jurgen Klopp’s team had made an approach for the Argentine star, thought to be around £26 million.
But it now seems the Reds will need to act fast if they still want to pursue De Paul’s signature. Milan are believed to be weighing up a move for the South American, and could well pay the £35 million asking price Udinese have set.
The all-around midfielder has become one of the stars of the European game in the latest seasons. Leeds were strongly linked with him last summer, but Rodrigo remained in Serie A and has gone from strength to strength.
Liverpool are expected to be active in the market this summer. New centre-halves are a priority but manager Jurgen Klopp will need someone in for Georginio it seems, which is why De Paul is ideal.
