Liverpool defender could leave club this summer

Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren is expected to depart Anfield during the summer transfer market, with Lazio interested.

The Croatian centre-half’s contract will expire in the summer of 2021, and it appears that the Reds are keen to cash in at the end of the campaign.

Dejan has been disappointing this campaign, making a rare Premier League appearance in his side’s 3-0 defeat against Watford last month.

He has drawn attention from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham, who have reportedly been eyeing up the experienced player.

But now, Biancocelesti have entered into the bidding, and are interested in bringing the star to Italy – according to a recent report by TuttoMercatoWeb.

However, they’re unwilling to match the Anfield outfit’s valuation of the veteran and are still some way apart on a reported deal.

The European champions want £18.4 million for Dejan, but the Serie A title-chasers value him lower than that.

Lovren was linked with a transfer away during the January transfer market, but nobody was willing to meet the Reds’ demands then either.

As a result, his valuation plummeted, and the Reds are now looking to cash in while they can.

Lazio are believed to be willing to offer him a contract worth £2.75 million per year, a significant pay cut from his current £4.5 million a year salary.

He is believed to be accepting of the pay cut and simply wants to get out of the Premier League giants after a reported falling-out with Jurgen Klopp. All Rights Reserved 2019
