Liverpool have allegedly reached an agreement with the Primeira Liga giants Porto to have the first refusal on the signing of playmaker Fabio Vieira.

The 21-year-old star learned his trade in the youth ranks at Dragoes and has since emerged as a standout performer for his side since his breakthrough in the 2020-21 term.

Vieira’s 2021-22 season has seen him make 39 outings for the Portuguese club in all competitions, contributing seven goals and providing 16 assists so far.

According to The Mirror, the Reds are keeping a close eye on the ace development and have already struck an early agreement with Sergio Conceicao’s side.

Jurgen Klopp and co. are understood to have the first refusal on the talent’s signing amid reports that Arsenal are also keen on his services.

He is under contract at Estadio do Dragao until the summer of 2025 after penning a fresh deal last November, although that agreement reportedly includes a £12.7 million release clause.

The Reds and the Gunners could expect to shell out a larger fee due to performance-related add-ons and bonuses, though, and interest in him is only expected to grow.

In total, he has made 76 first-team appearances for Porto across all competitions, coming up with 10 goals and 18 assists as well as lifting two division trophies.
